UPDATE | ELI TOMAC 2018 ANAHEIM ONE SUPERCROSS

While driving the 450 Main Event at the 2018 Anaheim One Supercross, Eli Tomac committed an error in a cadence segment, was sent flying sideways off of one hop, and hammered into the ground. Despite the fact that he rushed to remount his Monster Energy Kawasaki cruiser and at first lost just a couple of positions, his pace moderated considerably and appeared to be diverted by an issue. This ended up being an issue with his jeans, as both the clasp catch and zipper came fixed. In the wake of ceasing in a swing to close the clasp, Tomac continued riding at a much slower pace and after that hauled out of the race totally a couple of laps later.

We talked with the Monster Energy Kawasaki group on Saturday night and their underlying articulation was that Tomac endured an injury (wound) to one side shoulder, which was the reason for the DNF, and that he would have it looked at this week.

On Monday morning the group disclosed to us that more data will come later in the week.

The crash can be found in the features underneath, beginning at the 50-second stamp.
