THE MINIMUM AGE FOR RIDERS HAS BEEN MOVED FROM 12 YEARS OLD TO 14 YEARS OLD
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) just dropped some real news. Compelling January 1, 2017, the base age for riders contending on a 250cc four-stroke or two-stroke has been moved from twelve years of age to fourteen years of age or more established. Further, the base age for a rider contending on a 450cc or above is presently sixteen years of age or more established.
Illustration: A racer who is 13 years of age upon the arrival of the occasion isn’t allowed to contend on a 250cc model bike. A racer that is 15 years of age upon the arrival of the occasion isn’t allowed to contend on a 450cc model bike.
The accompanying guideline change was made by AMA Congress and affirmed by the AMA Board of Directors. This control will go live Jan. 1, 2017. Changes for the 2017 season are reflected in red, intense sort. Things that are struck through will never again be substantial.
Section 1.1; Chapter A; Paragraph 6:
The base age for novice riders is 12. In all occasions, a rider must be 14 or more seasoned to ride bikes over a 250cc. In motocross occasions, a rider must be 14 or more established to ride a 250cc 4-stroke/2-stroke bike. In motocross occasions, a rider must be 16 or more established to ride a 450cc or above cruiser.
