Demuth Tops Bowers on Night One in Reno; Catanzaro Races to Third Lites Win of the Season

RENO, Nev. (Walk 5, 2010) – ArenOcross 2010 commenced on Friday night before an energized swarm at Reno’s Livestock and Events Center. The 2010 AMA Arenacross Series started its last month of rivalry and it was another essential night for the Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Ti Lube Kawasaki group as Josh Demuth, of North Richland Hills, Texas, caught his fourth win of the year, driving a Babbitt’s platform clear. In the AMA Arenacross Lites class, current Western Regional Championship focuses pioneer A.J. Catanzaro, of Middlefield, Conn., earned his third win of 2010.

As Spinechillers/Storm Lake Honda’s Nathan Skaggs, of Chillicothe, Ohio, snatched the AMA Arenacross class Holeshot, Demuth, with Bowers and kindred colleague Chad Johnson, of Rhinelander, Wis., close behind, rapidly made his turn to the front of the field and drove whatever is left of the path in the 25-lap headliner. The 1-2-3 complete for the Babbitt’s squad was its fifth of the season with Bowers bringing home the sprinter up spot and Johnson in third. In the title battle, Demuth increased three focuses over Bowers.

The AMA Arenacross Lites class headliner was all Catanzaro from the drop of the entryway. The youngster rider took the Holeshot and continued to lead each lap of the 18-lap headliner. Notwithstanding it being his third triumph, it was additionally his second in a row win as the territorial title battle hits the halfway purpose of its 10-race season. Reynard Mods Kawasaki’s Cory Green, of Nowata, Okla., and No Fear/Spy Honda’s Parker Eckman, of Tustin, Calif., completed second and third, individually.

The hole amongst Bowers and Demuth presently sits at 14 focuses in the head AMA Arenacross class while Catanzaro stretched out his leeway to six focuses over Green in the AMA Arenacross Lites Western Regional fight.

The 2010 ArenOcross proceeds with tomorrow night from the Livestock and Events Center for night two. The doors drop at 7:30 p.m.
