RESULTS | ANAHEIM SUPERCROSS

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The 2011 Monster Energy Supercross, a FIM World Championship, season got in progress on Saturday before a sold out group at Angel Stadium. The most expected season in the historical backdrop of the game was commenced by with a persuading win by Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, of Poulsbo, Wash. In the opening race of the Supercross Lites Western Regional Championship, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Josh Hansen, of Elbert, Colo., drove a decisive victory of the platform by Kawasaki.

As the entryways dropped on the Supercross class headliner, Dodge/Hart and Huntington Kawasaki’s Ivan Tedesco, of Murrieta, Calif., dashed to the holeshot with Villopoto and Red Bull KTM’s Mike Alessi, of Victorville, Calif., close behind. Villopoto made brisk work of Alessi, assuming control over the best spot on the principal lap before going wire-to-wire for his tenth profession win in the class.

“This is a decent method to begin the season,” said Villopoto. “Beginning along these lines makes things substantially simpler. I trust I can begin assembling some more wins and a title this year.”

Shielding Monster Energy Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., completed second by and large on board his Rockstar/Makita Suzuki, step by step working his way into the sprinter up spot and never surrendering it. San Manuel Yamaha’s James Stewart, of Haines City, Fla., balanced the general platform in third, conquering a mid-pack begin to efficiently work his way into platform position on Lap 12.

“I got off to a respectable begin and needed to play some make up for lost time out there,” said Dungey. “Amid the week, I will strive to prepare for Phoenix. I’m happy that I put my Suzuki up on the container today around evening time.”

“I nearly went down a couple of times,” said Stewart. “One week from now, I’ll chip away at my begins and be set up for Phoenix. I attempted my best to get up there. When I got into third, I endeavored to set aside a few minutes on Ryan (Dungey) yet came up short on laps.”

In the Supercross Lites class, it was all Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki. In his presentation for the group, Broc Tickle, of Holly, Mich., snatched the early lead and drove for eight laps previously getting go by Hansen exactly toward the end goal. The team at that point opened up an extensive hole over the field.

“I’m glad to be here and get recovered and head down the correct way,” said Hansen. I have an incredible group around me, and I am extremely amped up for this evening. I have many individuals to thank for staying by me. I’m energized for the season.”

Supercross Lites class freshman Tyla Rattray, of Wildomar, Calif., finished the Pro Circuit clear in third.

The night was a genuinely predominant one for the whole Kawasaki association as the brand drove each lap of the headliners in both the Supercross and Supercross Lites classes while additionally driving each lap of rivalry in the Supercross Lites class.
