BROC SCHMELYUN INJURED IN SCARY ACCIDENT AT HIGH POINT [UPDATE]

Group BLUE Buffalo/Slater Skins/Yamaha’s Broc Schmelyun apparently maintained a damaged thigh, a concussion, a busted proximal fibula and also torn tendons in his ankle following a horrifying crash yesterday at the High Point National.

Schmelyun lost control of his bike on the face of a jump on Saturday, flying through the air without his bike prior to crashing down. Schmelyun was taken care of at the track prior to being transferred to Ruby Memorial Medical Facility in Morgantown, West Virginia.

In Dec. 2013, the Maryland native continual two broken legs prior to the 2014 Beast Energy Supercross season while practicing at Milestone. Schmelyun authorized with BLUE Buffalo/Slater Skins this off-season and also has scored 5 points via 5 rounds of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross.

UPDATE We consulted with Broc using a telephone on Monday and also he remains in good spirits following the collision. He wants to be launched from the hospital today. We will certainly have the complete interview with Broc later on this week on Racer X Online.
